DESCRIPTION:Meet Garry Johnson III\, founder of multiple startups and companies: a social venture contributing to a more inclusive innovation ecosystem within New Castle County and beyond. One aiming to create functional and fashionable clothing for individuals with disabilities\, and another creating opportunities for a more accessible and equitable tech industry.\n\nGarry Johnson is a graduate of the University of Delaware where he received a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2017 and an M.S. in Entrepreneurship & Design in 2018. As a senior at UD\, he started an annual pitch competition called 'I Have a Dream' to empower young men of color in Wilmington. In 2018\, he won HBCU.vc's first Pitch Competition held at Prairie View A&M University in Texas\, was awarded StartUpAfrica's Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award\, and graduated from Founder Gym\, a program training underrepresented founders around the world in understanding how to raise venture capital and build great startups. He's recently been featured as one of the Delaware Business Times' 'People to Watch in 2019.'\n\nStartup Grind is more than a speaking event\, it's a chance to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs\, innovators and creators.
